Credit Union Manager of Compliance and Risk

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.    Ensure the APCI FCU policies, procedures and processes are in compliance with regulatory agencies and laws. Make suggestions for improving compliance policies, procedures, and disclosures.

2.    Manage the compliance, risk assessment and information security programs as well as ensuring that staff receive ongoing communication and training on these topics.

3.    Maintain awareness of issues relating to the APCI FCU operations, industry trends and regulations. 

4.    Maintain and assist in updating, or creating, risk assessments, policies and programs for credit union activities or functional areas such as BSA, OFAC, internal operations, retail / electronic services, retention, information security and business continuity. 

5.    This position will be a member of the cybersecurity team. 

6.    Participate with various APCI FCU departments in the investigation and resolution of external or internal fraud. Partner with the APCI FCU Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Compliance and Lending Officer (CCL), or Chief Marketing and Retail Operations Officer (CMR). 

7.    Maintain ongoing communications with the APCI FCU CCL, informing him/her of all relevant problems, irregularities, new developments, and other important developments within area of responsibility. 

8.    Ensure that all information and transactions involving non-public information is kept confidential and adheres to applicable policies and procedures.  

9.    Perform other duties and complete projects as assigned by the APCI FCU President/CEO or CCL 


JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.    It is preferred that incumbent has an Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Compliance, or related field. There is an added advantage if incumbent has earned a Bachelor’s degree, MBA, CFSA, CFE, CRCM, NCCO, NCRM or other compliance / risk management related qualifications. 

2.    Incumbent is expected to have a minimum of 3 years of financial institution experience in the area of compliance or risk assessments. There is an added advantage if incumbent has credit union experience.  

3.    Incumbent is expected to have a working knowledge of credit union or bank rules and regulations.  

4.    Incumbent is expected to be proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting credit union laws, rules, and regulations with demonstrated ability to explain complex topics simply in both a group and individual environment.  Excellent verbal, written and group communication skills are required. 

5.    Incumbent is expected to be a self-starter who is able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the APCI FCU staff, management, volunteers, auditors, and vendors.
