Position Summary
The Crescendo / Campus Director is responsible for the operation of all community ministries and facility operations for the Torrance Corps. This includes oversight of all aspects of the Crescendo School of Music and Dance, managing all facility rentals, liaison with the Hunt Recording Studio, and developing new programs.
Essential Functions
Donald and Priscilla Hunt Performing Arts Academy (HPAA)
Oversee the management and integration of all HPAA programs and services: Crescendo School of Music and Dance Hunt Recording Studio Torrance Corps Recreational Programs Ensure the mission of sharing the gospel is an integral part of the culture of HPAA Help to develop and implement HPAA Public Relations Strategy Work with staff to develop HPAA promotional and informational literature, including HPAA website Ensure all HPAA programs are aligned with budget Develop and expand new programs and services for all HPAA departments Ensure compliance with Protecting the Mission standards across all programsCrescendo School of Music and Dance
Maintain and expand educational music programs to reach maximum potential Recruit and hire Crescendo staff and contractors Supervise Crescendo contractors and instructors/teachers Arrange and oversee hosting of all music and dance groups Develop a Crescendo/Corps integration plan which helps bridge students and families from Crescendo programs into the Corps community Organize Special Events, including Annual Recitals, Summer Music Camps, etc.Hunt Recording Studio
Act as liaison in support of events and activities organized by HRS staffCommunity Programs
Expand the Torrance Corps outreach through recreational/educational programs such as leagues and pick-up nights, yoga, Stress Management, or other programs; utilizing local volunteers and outside partnerships.Facilities Operations & Rentals
Work with the Corps Officers to provide competitive rates for rental groups and individuals Assist in the development of all property rental literature and promotional strategy Work directly with potential renters to tour, negotiate and sign necessary documentation Coordinate and maintain property rental calendar; communicating all property rentals with staff team to avoid conflicts Organize and delegate the hosting of property rental groups Supervise Facility operations staff Ensure facilities are in appropriate condition and contracted needs are met for rental groups Work directly with rental groups to ensure their needs are met and contract agreements are followed Ensure rental groups do not conflict with Corps mission values Make recommendations to Corps Officer about maintenance / safety issuesAdditional
Related Duties as assignedPAY RATE: $75K-$80K/yr.
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend squat climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.
Minimum Qualifications
A BA or equivalent in music education, management, or related field preferred. Familiarity with Salvation Army music programs preferred At least five years’ experience in a similar field At least two years’ experience in music education Must complete Salvation Army driving test and have a clean MVR checkSkills, Knowledge & Abilities
A basic knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint Good interpersonal skills Ability to manage large projects
