New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes economic growth across New York City’s five boroughs. As NYC’s official economic growth across New York City’s five boroughs. As NYC’s official economic development corporation, it is charged with leveraging the City’s assets to drive growth, create jobs and improve quality of life.

The Doe Fund has partners with the NYCEDC’s Graffiti Free NYC Program,  hiring approximately 35 full-time workers. The Graffiti Free NYC (GFNYC) program is the city’s principal task force for removing graffiti across the five boroughs by working directly with City Hall and the Mayor’s Office on high-priority graffiti removal requests. Work consists of: site cleanup, area maintenance, graffiti and snow removal. The Doe Fund also provides additional vocational and job training, with the goal of improving their career trajectory and gaining higher paid employment.

Program Overview: Graffiti Free NYC (GFNYC) utilizes customized vehicles equipped with power washers and paint sprayers to clean graffiti throughout the five boroughs. The programs fleet consists of 24 cleaning vehicles and has a staff of about 35 members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to) Cleaning graffiti, pressure washing, painting walls, mail boxes, lampposts, Perform other duties as needed (i.e., Emergency snow removal, cleaning out vacant buildings or clearing up debris from storm aftermath) Driving and utilizing navigation/GPS to locations Wear and carry photo identification – visible to the public while on duty at all times Perform other duties related to the goals of the Department Use chemicals and high powered equipment Time and Attendance is a Must! Minimum Qualifications: Driver’s License Driving record in good standing (must be approved by NYCEDC) Ability to exert moderately heavy (up to 50 pounds) physical effort in moderate to heavy work typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling Demonstrated record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality Ability to adapt and be flexible, as work environments and duties may change

The salary for this position is up to $32,760.00
