Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To train to receive and process criminal history files, crash reports, sex offender files, applicant requests for employment, permits, and licensing, to manage criminal history systems usage and access, and to identify fingerprints by study of non-consequential fingerprint files which include locating, identifying, analyzing and updating records.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Criminal Records Analyst 2 by absence of independence in dealing with receiving and processing criminal history files, crash reports, sex offender files, applicant requests for employment, permits, and licensing, managing criminal history systems usage and access and identifying fingerprints by study of non-consequential fingerprint files which include locating, identifying, analyzing and updating records.
Examples of Work
EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.
Fingerprints individuals seeking employment, state permits and licenses.
Prepares incoming background check requests and fees to determine eligibility, accuracy and legibility.
Enters money received as payment for processing background checks, crash reports, and concealed handgun permits into an automated accounting program that must be balanced daily.
Files and reconciles incoming background check related fingerprints, authorization, and disclosure forms maintained in the Bureau.
Files, reconciles, and processes incoming applications for concealed handgun permits and crash reports.
Files, reconciles, and processes incoming requests for connection and access to criminal justice networks.
Scans and indexes crash reports submitted by Department officers.
Runs a computerized background check routine for individual applicants.
Generates criminal history rap sheets to be mailed out or electronically transferred to various agencies as an update.
Receives and furnishes customer and agency orders for fingerprints cards.
Updates computerized criminal justice information programs through modification, deletion and addition of new information.
Accesses and maintains manual or electronic criminal history records, user agency files, crash reports, and concealed handgun applicants stored in various filing or computer systems.
Accesses fingerprint cards by using the Henry Classification System.
