Crisis Care Clinician
This position supports the overall wellbeing of the Belmont community by providing mental health support that enables students to fully engage in campus and academic life. Services provided by this position equip students to manage typical life transitions as well as serious and/or emergent mental health issues. Services provided focus on crisis assessment and intervention. Services provided also include free, convenient access to professional mental health assessment, emergent care, short-term treatment, wellness education, as well as referral to off-campus specialists and services. This position's collaborative efforts across campus and within the larger mental health community of Nashville ensure that Belmont students directly experience a sense of community that values safety, personal integrity and care.Serve as lead crisis provider/clinician. Engage in crisis interventions and stabilization. Effectively triage crisis situations to determine appropriate level of care needed and develop follow up plan(s). Caseload focuses on but is not limited to bridging individuals with clinically acute concerns to specialized care. Clinical documentation is maintained accordingly. Ensure ability to consistently provide high level of clinical work in a high pressure/response-oriented environment by maintaining appropriate self-care practices. Develop relationships with and provide consultation to internal and external partners to ensure continuity of care and robust referral networks. This includes but is not limited to area hospitals, intensive treatment programs, local providers, and key campus offices (i.e. Student Care and Support, Health Services, Campus Security, Residence Life). Provide clinical mental health services, other than crisis intervention, and maintain appropriate documentation in an electronic health record. Services include but are not limited to: goal-oriented therapy, group therapy, assessment, and referral. Participate and assist in developing psychoeducational programming and outreach that supports the university's efforts to promote health and wellbeing across campus.Participate in the clinical training program that is embedded in Counseling Services including but not limited to: training and supervising clinical interns as appropriate, providing experiential crisis intervention training.
