**Crisis Intervention Specialist - Mobile Crisis Response**
Location: Rockford, IL
**Position Summary**
Under the general supervision of the Regional Manager or designee, this position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families served. This position is responsible for responding to in-home crisis intervention within the foster home by using effective crisis response modality.
Hours: Sunday – Thursday, 7a – 3p

**Responsibilities**
+ Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
+ The ability to drive to foster homes.
+ Effectively respond to in-home crisis response services within the foster home using effective crisis response modality.
+ Support the development of potential foster parents in understanding the needs of the youth entering foster care, the expectation of mentoring primary families and the goal of reunification of youth with the primary family.
+ Work with current, former, and prospective foster parents to recruit new foster families.
+ Responsible for the knowledge and implementation of all rules, regulations, and policies related to foster care.
+ Provide in-home crisis intervention services to youth and foster families in crises as needed.
+ Must be willing to work evenings/weekend hours as necessary and be on call to respond to emergencies.
+ Must be willing to travel within the Chicago metropolitan area.
+ Document all invention in case note that meets billing expectations.
+ Provide crisis interventions service to de-escalate situation and promote placement stability.
+ Provide understanding and support, including active listening, addressing needs, and problem solving.
+ Communicate with Treatment Coordinator/supervisor to develop an action plan with the youth and f/p that reflects their needs.
+ Assist all potential foster families in providing all required information and completing required paperwork in a timely manner.
+ Maintain and update all foster home records in appropriate systems.
+ Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
+ Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.
+ Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
+ Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
+ Report incidents to state and supervisory agencies when appropriate.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
+ Previous experience as a caseworker in IL child welfare system required.
+ Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

+ Must be able to work independently and be flexible in all situations.
+ A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
+ Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
+ Experience in case management, outreach, and/or community support.
+ Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
+ Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
+ Must be comfortable with public speaking.
**Driving and Vehicle Requirements**
+ Valid driver’s license
+ Reliable personal transportation
+ Good driving record
+ Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,00/$300,000 bodily injury liability
