This position is responsible for providing both basic and advanced life support to patients in an efficient, knowledgeable and cost effective manner, which is accurately documented and properly coordinated with other health care personnel.Schedule

Scope
As an Ambulance Driver with us, youll never know what to expect, but you will know how to:
Prior to each ground transport, perform risk assessment via safety Matrix. Perform driving responsibilities to meet all safety standards set forth by the transport program.
Receive report of incoming ambulance and aircraft patients, convey pertinent information to the Charge Nurse and in the case of the air medical, ensure that necessary assistance is available for unloading.
Effectively utilize time when not actively involved in patient care by maintaining Environment of Care and Point of Care Standards, supply and room stocking and preparation and equipment checks.
Maintain proficiency in radio/satellite communications and maintain open lines of communication with the CareFlight communication center.
Inspect ambulance for damage and equipment failure and document each on daily checklist to ensure the ambulance is fully operational and is good repair.
Be responsible for familiarity and effective utilization of prevention and intervention techniques for interaction with violent, mentally disturbed, head injured and intoxicated patients.
Proficiently obtains IV access, bloods and specimens. Labels and transports patient specimens within established standards.
Assist in the ED by accurately and timely documentation using ASAP.
Actively advocate, precept and coach EMS and nursing students and new employees to the department.
Safely operate motor vehicle and comply with driver requirements as defined in SCL Health Systems Driver Safety Policy.
Minimum Qualifications
:
Minimum of three (3) months of education past High School and must be have completed an IV course- Minimum of two (2) years of experience, required- Current EMT-B and valid drivers license with less than 4 points, required
