Iron Mountain Data Centers (IMDC) is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to deliver technical and facility support in our 24x7 data center environment. This critical role ensures the smooth operation of electrical, HVAC, and building management systems to meet uptime standards for our customers. We are looking for a dedicated professional with specific technical expertise and a commitment to operational excellence.

Your role in our mission

Safety and Compliance: Execute all work following safety protocols to protect personnel and facilities, and adhere to IMDC’s strict safety guidelines.System Monitoring: Operate and maintain critical infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, cooling equipment, fire suppression systems, and security systems, ensuring optimal performance.Maintenance and Repairs: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and building systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Service Management: Manage and resolve service tickets, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and support customer equipment installations using IMDC’s ticketing system.Daily Operations: Perform routine inspections and operational readings on all critical systems, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.Vendor and Workflow Coordination: Escort and oversee vendor maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to IMDC procedures, and assist in developing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for maintenance activities.

Valued skills and experience

Several years of experience in critical facilities, data centers, or industrial operations, with hands-on experience in:

UPS systems and power distribution units (PDU).

HVAC systems, including CRAC/CRAH units and chiller systems.

Generators and fuel systems.

Relevant certifications such as EPA Universal (for HVAC), Electrical Journeyman License, or equivalent technical trade certifications are highly preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or completion of a technical apprenticeship program is required.Strong ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly while adhering to documented procedures.Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and complete work efficiently under minimal supervision.Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
