Critical Facility Engineer (Data Center)What does a successful Critical Facility Technician (Data Center) do?
Your primary responsibility is to assist in maintaining continuous up-time of the Data Center. This is accomplished by monitoring critical Data Center support systems and responding to alarms caused by faults and failures.
What you will do:
Monitor critical Data Center systems by using the automated Building Management System (BMS), while wearing a pager to be always carried other than vacation or scheduled days offVisual inspections and readings of equipment and systemsRespond to alarms on critical systems throughout the facility and trouble shoot and take necessary actions to maintain critical Data Center systemsContact appropriate vendor and/or contractors to respondPerform testing on equipment and systems and complete tasks as part of a preventive maintenance scheduleMaintain safe work environments and the actions of cleaning contractorsClean all critical equipment as needed or as part of preventive maintenance and support maintenance tasks performed by vendorsYou must be open to being a floater and cover for other technicians who are on PTO, your shift will primarily be Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. However, you would need to cover other shifts as required when other technicians are on vacation. On occasion, you will need to work from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and sometimes on night shift 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, but it is not that frequentWhat you will need to have:
4+ years of experience in one of the following: electrical and/or mechanical, large generator systems, UPS systems operation, power distribution, mechanical plant operationsHigh school diploma or GEDWould be great to have:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders while working at heights of 6 to 12 feet and stand on your feet for the majority of your shiftOccasional local travel of up to 10% may be required Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support 24/7 data center operationsAll offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks.
