VCA Veterinary Emergency Service and Veterinary Specialty Center is a steadily expanding specialty hospital group in Madison, WI. With the largest ER caseload in the region, and a growing specialty referral base, we are looking for an additional Criticalist to join our team. Our specialists and emergency doctors work together in a collaborative and encouraging manner in a progressive practice.
We are proud of our renovated and expanded building that houses all the equipment needed to practice excellent critical care medicine. The practice has a multi-slice CT, a full range of endoscopy equipment, multiple ultrasound machines, a long term ventilator, and dedicated oxygen cages. Our specialties include Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Oncology. We are a teaching facility, with a rotating intern class, so mentoring is part of our culture. We encourage and support clinical research and host monthly CE dinner events for our referring veterinarians.
The Madison area is home to a diverse, highly educated population of approximately half a million, with a local airport, relatively low cost housing and cost of living, yet incredible variety of cultural experiences including food, sports, theater, and music. The area boasts excellent schools and frequently ranks top in the country in terms of health, happiness, and overall quality of life. Milwaukee and Chicago are a two hour drive for international getaways and there are daily direct flights from Madison Airport to multiple destinations. The city is home to the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the Wisconsin State Capitol, Henry Vilas Zoo, lakes, and an extensive network of parks and bike trails.
