Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Lease Crude Oil Trader to join our team and manage procurement, trading, and logistics of lease crude in the Four Corners and Permian Basin regions. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining producer relationships, negotiating purchase agreements, and optimizing crude oil movements to maximize margin and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities + Source and procure lease crude from producers in the Four Corners and Permian regions. + Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, marketers, midstream partners, and counterparties. + Negotiate and execute term and spot purchase, sale, and exchange agreements to maximize commercial value. + Develop and implement negotiation tactics aligned with sales and supply strategies. + Coordinate with logistics and scheduling teams to manage truck, pipeline, and gathering system movements. + Monitor and analyze market conditions, including regional supply/demand dynamics, crude differentials, and pricing trends. + Evaluate crude quality and compatibility to ensure downstream marketability and blending value. + Manage basis exposure and physical inventory positions to capture market structure opportunities within operational constraints. + Identify and pursue discretionary trade and business development opportunities (e.g., blending, storage, freight deals). + Optimize transportation and storage assets in collaboration with key internal stakeholders. + Collaborate across the value chain (e.g., Legal, Credit, Finance, Accounting) to support commercial execution, compliance, and contract administration. + Maintain accurate records of transactions, pricing structures, volumes, and contracts. + Prepare and present periodic market updates, trading performance, and competitive intelligence to leadership. + Support the development and execution of regional supply strategies and infrastructure projects. Education and Experience + Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, economics, accounting, or related field of study + Three (3) or more years of experience in Trading or Marketing including profit/loss responsibility for Product Trading, Contract Negotiation and Scheduling (rail, truck, vessel and pipe). *** This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels.
