A Day in the Life: 

This entry-level position focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and order of the plant's facilities, assisting with inventory tracking, and receiving training on plant processes and procedures.  The Crush Utility Worker will be responsible for general upkeep of all equipment, plant areas, buildings, and grounds.  They will also assist supervisors with data collection and product inventory tracking.  This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a plant environment and learn various operational procedures, providing a foundation for potential advancement within the company.

 

Position Details:

This role requires a flexible work schedule, which may include 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts. Shifts may occur on days, evenings, or nights, including weekend and a rotating shift pattern. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process. Starting Hourly Wage: $25.70

Essential Functions:

Routinely clean soybean loading and unloading areas, ensuring spills and debris are promptly removed. Collect product samples according to plant supervisors' instructions, adhering to established sampling procedures. Deliver collected product samples to the laboratory for testing, maintaining proper sample integrity during transport. Monitor product inventories in plant storage facilities as directed by supervisors, accurately recording inventory levels. Receive training on plant procedures and facility operations, demonstrating competency in operating assigned equipment under supervision. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors, contributing to the overall efficiency of plant operations.

 

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday, often on uneven surfaces. Regular sweeping and shoveling of various materials, requiring moderate physical exertion. Routine lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs., utilizing safe lifting techniques. Climbing ladders and stairs to access different areas of the plant, adhering to safety protocols. Working at heights and in confined spaces, observing all required safety precautions. Performing tasks that require stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and manual dexterity. Possessing sufficient sight and hearing to perform job duties safely and effectively. Frequent bending and twisting motions during various cleaning and maintenance tasks.

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred Demonstrated ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Ability to follow directions accurately and consistently, adhering to established procedures. Reliable and dependable attendance.
