CSC Solutions Architect Manager
Description Do you want to help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity? We’re seeking an accomplished leader to build out a high performing Solution Architecture team aligned to the APJ geography. As a self-starter willing to operate in a multifaceted way, you should also have experience in complex architecture of cloud infrastructure and/or enterprise applications, and possess top of the line leadership skills with the ability to execute on key business initiatives. In this role you’ll drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers, ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers. Key job responsibilities * As a key member of the business development and account management teams, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services onto the AWS platform * In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a customer-focused strategy to drive adoption of AWS * Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects * Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many technical sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS * Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community * Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices * Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support A day in the life In this role, your technical depth, business aptitude, and ability to steer technology discussions at all levels will enable you to shape the customer and solution selling capabilities of your team. You will help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You'll engage with customers and partners to design and build some of the most scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. You'll collaborate with Sales and other teams to help address customer business needs, accelerate the adoption of AWS services, and drive revenue growth. About the team This role is within the Japan CSC Solution Architecture (SA) team. The CSC is the inside sales organisation of AWS and is focused on new customer acquisitions across APJ at scale. You will have the exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally and cross-geographically, as you collaborate with internal stakeholders from sales, operations, partner, and marketing teams, while being part of an entirely new concept at AWS. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field of study - 15+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) - 5+ years in a technical leadership role, developing teams of independent, motivated technologists - Experience in developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformation toward cloud computing - Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications - Occasional travel Preferred Qualifications - MBA Degree or equivalent - Broad technology experience including: cloud architecture, applications development, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, machine learning, networking, security, storage, DevOps, containers, serverless, CI/CD, management and monitoring, cloud migrations, IT transformation. - Experience architecting/designing solutions ideally built on the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud. - Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
