Job Title – CSE Engineer / Associate CSE Engineer (VB)
A CSE Engineer, Product provides technical expertise on the optimal KONE product for the customer. He/she understands how customer needs are translated into product-specific requirements.He/she takes part in non-standard solutions, tendering with expertise on KONE products like escalators and autowalks, machine-room-less elevators, high rises, ReGenerate, ReNova or third-party equipment.After taking an order, he/she remains accountable for product engineering.
Are you the one?Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.Sound experience in a relevant role in Elevator industry or same role in any engineering industry.Deep knowledge on escalators and autowalks, machine-room-less elevators, high rises, ReGenerate, ReNova or third-party equipmentUnderstanding of different building types and customer segmentsExcellent skills in understanding and translating customer needs (requirements) into the KONE product offeringUnderstanding of new construction and building modernization processes in the industry and at KONEKnowledge of KONE product-related norms and standardsGood knowledge of environmental and sustainability requirements and normsGood CAD and BIM skillsBasic knowledge of competitors’ productsVB-specific competencies: conducting site surveys, modernization / installation methodsGood understanding of how a product’s total costing is built upGood understanding of local norms and regulationsUnderstanding of KONE quality management
What will you be doing?Collaboration with SalesResponsible for finding the optimal KONE product to meet the customer’s needs for non-standard and modernization casesSelects the correct product platform on which to make the offerProduct planning – CostingInvolves Supply Line, installation, maintenance and project management to understand both the materials and the service cost of the product when neededResponsible for correct product costings in non-standard cases, both for corporate and local materialsProduct planning – SpecsAccountable for detailed, custom product plans for non-standard cases (collaborates with the SL Engineering team when needed)Creates product specifications for corporate materials and local materialsPerforms initial and revised non-standard energy calculationsPerforms simple traffic analysesWhen accountable for the overall engineering of the project:Accountable for technical site surveysAccountable for the technical content of the order between MS 0b and MS 2zProduct Planning – Availability and lead timesCoordinates product lead times from Supply Line and local sourcingProduct Planning – InstallabilityEnsures that the proposed product can be installedEnsures that the cost and work effort impact of installation is part of product plans, especially in non-standard installation situationsProduct Planning – MaintainabilityEnsures that the planned proposed product fulfils the customer’s product lifecycle needsIdentifies possible deviations to standard maintenance methods and ensures that resolutions are foundProduct Planning – ComplianceEnsures that the proposed product fulfils local codes, regulations and safety requirementsEnsures alignment with environmental regulationsEnsures that the planned product complies with KONE’s Engineering PolicyKey tasks in the KONE Customer processProvides content for pre-tender and pre-booking reviews (technical product, costs, lead times, risks, and verification of technical content in contracts)Executes activities for holistic product planningKey tasks in the KONE Delivery process Accountable for creation of layoutsAnalyses change requirements, and makes proposals on new product designProvides needed details to the CSE Specialist on ordering materials and completing the documentation processProvides product-related information to the Project Manager, Installation Supervisor and Maintenance SupervisorCSE Product Engineer’s role in the KONE SEB process Shares knowledge with maintenance as neededGeneral responsibilitiesParticipates in product and new service release information-sharing sessionsProvides technical trainings to Sales, Installation and Maintenance as per Front Line needsOffers input to the product offering management about customization, standardization and interface requirements for the portfolioContributes to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local networkContributes and utilizes the Customer Solutions Engineering case libraryHandles engineering on Modernisation (MOD) including component upgrades (small VB repairs), full replacement (FBR) or existing building lifts (EBULI)Defines local technical content in sales configuration toolsIs the primary front line technical contact person for Supply LineResponsible for solution engineering in non-standard customer builds, also in standard product cases, for example transportation routes, special shafts and building automation systemsPerformance measuresCustomer satisfaction (sales transactional survey after orders are booked)Spec setter: Portion of KONE customer specs (%, based on CRM data)Error-free deliveries – % of deliveries without engineering issues based on select Quality Feedback Cause CodesP2mid-calculation and P2P accuracyFull chain tender response time (FL-SL-KTI)Time from order booking to the customer’s approval of the final drawingsTime from the customer approving the final drawings to the order (MS 2)Milestone 2 completed on time (according to the plan)Reduction in the amount of quality feedback and CAT 2 feedback issues
