Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking a CSI (Corrective Services Industries) Business Partner & Sustainability Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of key sustainability initiatives across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) contract. Reporting directly to the Account Director, you will support government targets through actionable plans covering Aboriginal participation, workers with disability, SME and regional business engagement, and reducing recidivism.
This is a hybrid position based anywhere within NSW, Parramatta, Orange & Sydney sites, ideal for someone passionate about creating tangible community impact through strategic planning, relationship building, and program delivery.
The ideal candidate will be
A purpose-driven, detail-oriented leader who thrives on creating change through structured planning, innovation, and partnership building. You’ll bring experience in government or compliance-based environments, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, enhance and submit Sustainability Action Plans across four key focus areas, that being Aboriginal Participation, Workers with Disabilities, SME’s and Regional Business and Reducing recidivism.
- Collaborate with CSI, subcontractors and government stakeholders to identify and implement initiatives
- Lead a small team of Facilities Managers on a number of Correctional Centres across the state
- Expand and grow existing baselines, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to track program performance
- Support procurement practices that improve opportunities for Aboriginal, SME, and disability-focused suppliers
- Liaise and consult with Small and Medium enterprises and Regional businesses to expand BGIS vendor base where required
- Drive innovation in inmate post-release employment, training, and reintegration opportunities
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Strong experience in stakeholder engagement, government programs, or social procurement
- Demonstrated knowledge in sustainability, diversity, or community development initiatives
- Excellent planning, reporting, and communication skills
- Background in finance, administration, or compliance management
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Communications, or Change Management
- Previous experience working in or with NSW Government departments
Workplace Flexibility
This is a hybrid role based anywhere within NSW, Parramatta, Orange & Sydney sites. Some travel between sites may be required.
