Position Summary:

The CSR Product Director has overall life cycle responsibility for ABEC’s CSR single use systems product line. This position is accountable for the product’s growth and profitability, and s/he leads a technical team to improve the product’s market value.  As such, the CSR Product Director and team work closely with ABEC operational and business development functions to drive improvements, address field issues, and support sales growth.


Responsibilities:

Lead a team focused on product improvements, product marketing, and new product concepts. Set priorities, develop implementation plans, and manage implementation activity. Develop compelling product marketing materials and sales tools. Train Sales, Applications, and other functions as needed on product features, benefits, and differentiation.Evaluate and prioritize potential product changes and improvements based on return on investment. Team with ABEC functional organizations to implement.Plan and drive product cost reduction. Systematically analyze all aspects of cost including materials, engineering/design, manufacturing, testing, and QA. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and team with functional organizations to      implement. Support other ABEC functions as the product line owner. Address product-related issues as needed for Projects and Service. Support Sales and Applications with product capability and definition information if needed during the sales process. Assess product competitiveness in the marketplace with respect to customer needs and competitor activity. Perform      Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) analyses for the product line.Train other ABEC functions as needed on product design and functionality. Evaluate, develop, and mentor team personnel. Identify and fill resource needs.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in capital equipment engineering, project management, or operations. Biopharmaceutical       manufacturing industry experience preferred.Prior experience with direct personnel management and leadership of teams.Prior experience in capital equipment Applications/Product Management/Product Marketing preferred.Working technical knowledge of bioprocess equipment (fermenters, bioreactors, filtration, chromatography, CIP, Single Use Systems, etc.).Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Demonstrated strategic planning skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively drive activity in a matrixed organization.Ability to travel when necessary.BS Degree in Engineering or Science. MS or MBA a plus.
