New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea, and operates the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province on behalf of the Porgera Joint Venture partners. The Porgera Gold Mine employs over 2,500 Papua New Guineans, and over the life of the mine it has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea’s total annual exports. Role Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement CSR strategy in alignment with company goals and industry best practices. Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives, fostering positive relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Oversee land access and vacant land management activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and community interests. Drive community development projects that create sustainable socio-economic benefits for local communities. Collaborate with the business development function to identify opportunities for CSR integration and value creation. Plan and implement key social performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), monitoring progress and driving continuous improvement. Ensure governance and compliance with statutory and agreement-related obligations, including local laws, permits, and community agreements. Identify, deploy, and maintain systems and processes aligned with Barrick Gold's sustainability standards, including grievance mechanisms and other corporate functions.The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in CSR, community relations, or related field, preferably within the mining industry or extractive sector. Experience in the role of an international project and/or developing country Strong understanding of CSR principles, stakeholder engagement methodologies, and community development practices. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate CSR initiatives effectively. Experience in managing land access and dealing with land tenure issues is desirable. Knowledge of Papua New Guinea's regulatory environment and community dynamics is an advantage. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Why Barrick Gold:
