The Manager I, Order-to-Cash (OTC) is responsible for the successful operation of the OTC stream, utilizing various tools and metrics to achieve success criteria as defined by CSS leadership. This individual will perform a critical leadership role as they optimize the stream and drive synergies between our business partners and OTC. They will play a key role in the successful execution of our annual cash goals.
Lead the OTC stream in Shared Services North America, while implementing best practice in collections, cash application, and delivering on both corporate objectives and business partner goals.
Key Responsibilities Working with key business partners develops and implements an effective collection, credit and cash application strategy Fosters and demonstrates an inclusive work environment by creating opportunities and promoting team development through coaching, mentoring and professional growth Leads and develops the OTC stream, by setting challenging objectives, coaching and the annual review process Working with the customer experience team actively focuses on customer success and error free processes Cross-functionally partners and collaborates to drive necessary improvement and enhance Corning’s resiliency Enhance the cash collection forecast process and monitors its effectiveness, challenges team to not except mediocrity Supports all SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance requirements, and defines/redefines controls and processes to maintain best practices Ensures compliance with all Corning Incorporated cash related polices Develops relevant KPIs for measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all cash processes Escalates issues as appropriate to ensure timely and effective resolution and crisis response Act as a thought leader in digital transformation Demonstrates and champions a quality culture and mindset (including PEx and process control/process discipline) Proactively partners with GPO (Global Process Owner) to ensure effective processes are maintained
Additional Responsibilities Key participant in all collection and forecast meetings (Corporate and Business) Champions and supports the CSS 2025 Vision Always be ready to support Corning’s evolving businesses Eliminate 100% manual processing of today’s standard transactions Be a thought leader in digital transformation, with DsaaS – both in and out of Corning Be an employer of choice for top talent Live the Corning values while delivering superior performance Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Management required Demonstrated ability to work with multiple groups globally and in a cross-functional team setting 3 years of cash experience preferred Ability to grow a team and develop individuals Superior problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, exceptional follow through Ability to create strategy translating action and performance of BC requirements for stakeholders Demonstrates Initiative and effectively manages self and team through a fast-paced environment Ability to interface at all levels within the organization and instill confidence and trust Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and/or Project Process improvement experience Ability to prioritize work to meet deliverables/timelines in an effective manner Experiences/Education - Desired PeopleSoft, SAP ECC6 and S4 Hana experience a plus Experience using Salesforce Strong organization skills, process rigor, attention to detail, responsive Understanding of Shared Services/Finance Organization Excellent written and oral presentation skills needed to brief high-level management; approach catered to audiences Leadership skills to engage business leadership and leverage talent in a matrix organization Additional leadership skills: influencing, motivating, change champion, adaptable, Sense of urgency and creativity to handle project issues and adapt plan to meet objectives Flexibility to adapt to changing environment; be a change agent to help others through change Cross-cultural sensitivity Open minded Highly collaborative
