WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Greater China Learning and Development Manager is part of the Consulting HR Team in Greater China. The Learning & Development Manager plays a pivotal role in our organization, with a dual focus on the management and coordination of a range of training programs and L&D initiatives across the offices in Greater China and proactively identifying business needs to develop tailored training solutions by design, development and delivery of training programs and initiatives for the Consulting team. In addition, the role is responsible for supporting and coordinating some key office events such as HOD and OPPL offsite, and providing support for training programs for BST, collaborating with BST HR teams to identify and implement optimal training solutions.

Given the diversity of the training and development programs, the L&D Manager is expected to work in a dynamic environment involving different teams, including members of Consulting/BST Team, and the broader HR team at both the Greater China, Asia Pacific and Global levels.Principal duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:Oversee all training activities and initiatives for Greater China consulting staff:Lead the development of an annual training calendar and budget that aligns with business objectives.Actively engage with business to understand the mid/long term biz strategy and discern learning needs, and shapes (and pivots) L&D agenda; Develop tailored content or new curriculums materials by working with AP regional or global L&D function team and orchestrating different L&D resources;Oversee the local training programs and global & regional campaigns and execute locally, ensuring they are effectively delivered to all employee levels;Adapt global training materials to meet the specific needs of the Greater China region.Provide strategic direction for training programs for Consulting staff, collaborating with local teams to identify and implement optimal training solutions.Contribute to global and regional training initiatives and actively provide feedback loop. Stay informed about the latest training methodologies and integrate them into the training programs where beneficial.Continuously evaluate training programs, assess their effectiveness, and implement improvements based on feedback and changing competency requirements.Hire and manage vendors as needed, in consultation with GCHR Executive Director and L&D Senior Director Asia Pacific.Design and prepare sessions with outside training vendors and manage the relationship as neededWork closely with global/ regional L&D, and plug in to global offer, provides feedback loop; Contributor & user of shared catalogue​, Track and safe-guard training attendance and implement guidelines to support attendanceOversight of all local training administration activities including, database maintenance, feedback analysis, program registration and logistics
Manage the planning and implementation of key office events:Lead the process for HOD planning and work with the OCs, Office Heads and relevant speakers to ensure a good delivery of HOD offeringsProvide support in the planning and implementation of OPPL off-sites by working closely with the GC People Executive Director
Provide support to local training and global training initiatives for BSTprovide support for training programs for BST, collaborating with BST HR teams to identify and implement optimal training solutions. Input into global/regional training initiatives such as regional orientationSupport in the design and pilot new global/regional programsSupport rollout of global or regional initiatives
Working together with Consulting GC People Executive Director on other HR related topicsProvide input in the wider HR strategy and delivery as appropriate
YOU'RE GOOD AT
Ability to understand the business landscape and interpret how specific training can benefit the business strategically is essential. This includes staying informed about industry trends and being able to align training programs with the company's strategic goals to enhance overall business performance.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese.Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities, pay close attention to detail, and follow up diligently.A strong aptitude for continuous learning and the capacity to adapt to skill and training changes is crucial. This involves staying current with emerging training technologies, methodologies, and content, and being able to integrate these into the learning and development strategies. The role requires a mindset that embraces lifelong learning and the agility to evolve with the ever-changing landscape of training and development.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.A sense of ownership, high level of initiative, and self-organization.Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, able to build deep trust and respect with business stakeholders, trainers, trainees, and regional/ local L&D teams across cultures.A strong analytical toolkit and capability, comfortable with both detailed work and understanding the big picture.Proactive and independent, able to function effectively in ambiguous and unstructured environments.Demonstrated capacity to develop into broader roles.
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
Experience in a training agency or a well-known corporate training department is preferred.A background in Consulting or deep understanding of Consulting industry is preferred, ideally combined with experience in training and development.
