CT Technical Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities: 

Schedules staff and workload to ensure efficient operation of the department. Interviews job applicants and trains new personnel in the operation of the Computerized Tomographic Scanner equipment. Evaluates and counsels CT personnel regarding work performance, conduct, and other related matters. Interviews sales representatives and makes recommendations for purchase of new products and equipment. Maintains equipment in good working order through preventative maintenance plan. Contacts repair service as necessary. Maintains an adequate inventory of department supplies. Performs the functions of the Computerized Tomographic Scanner Technologists. Serves as a lead resource to technologists. Evaluates the quality of tests and overall job performance. Maintains department records as required including budgetary and statistical reports on a monthly basis. Makes recommendations to changes in policies and procedures as appropriate. Responsible for monitoring procedures to ensure quality control of the department. Properly identifies and prepares patients for CT Scan examinations, provides explanations of procedures, and answers questions. Receives and reviews patient records and requests for studies. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Screens patient for proper diet preparation and possible allergy to contrast materials. Prepares and administers contrast media through IV injections and catheterizations, good IV skills or willing to learn. Practices proper shielding and radiation protection on all patients. Ensures that all patients of child-bearing age are questioned accordingly. Monitors patients during and after scan including monitoring to ensure patient comfort and safety. Assists in patient scheduling as required. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Required

Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school and registered by the ARRT. Leadership experience preferred. Advanced CT certification required. BLS required.
