Job Overview:
The CT Technologist performs various tasks in the Cat Scan Dept in order to organize and expedite the workflow and throughput of patients.

Required:
High School or GEDCompletion of an approved Radiology Technology program that meets the requirements set by the ARRT and the NJ State DEPPreferred:
One year as Staff TechnologistCertifications and Licenses Required:
NJ State License in RadiographyBLS Must be registered and certified in CT by ARRTScheduling Requirements:
Part-TimeEssential Functions:
Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety proceduresPosition patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessaryPerform exams accurately per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standardsAssist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicableAssist radiologist with interventional CT proceduresEvaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately labelFilm/transmit to Image Archival SystemSchedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functionsCharge procedures and supplies in EHRDispense and or order oral contrast to patients for CT scansMaintain accurate patient recordsProvide orientation and training to new CT technologistsProvide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for CT scansProvide education and training to student technologistsPerform other related duties incidental to the work thereinCoordinate scheduling and patient flowDemonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administrationDemonstrate proficiency and accuracy in performance of all exam protocolsAssist with the education and training of new technologistAssist radiologists in developing new protocols and CT imaging techniques that are unique to facilityPerform CT specific technical assistance with projects assigned by supervisor including but not limited to: protocol developmentBenefits and Perks:
