Summary :We are seeking experienced Imaging Professionals to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering high-quality patient care, utilizing your clinical expertise, and collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.

Job Description:

SCHEDULE: 12-hour day shift. flexible scheduling

Key Accountabilities

Provides professional, empathetic, and compassionate care to team members, patients, families, and significant others. Greets patients and their families, assists patients with dressing/undressing, transports or ambulates patients, and assists patients with comfort needs.

Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment and safety practices in the areas of  responsibility

Exhibits competency and skills needed to perform radiology procedures according to manufacturer, medical/department standards and protocols, and sets appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.

Demonstrates competency in intravenous access and administration of contrast in accordance with established protocols. Is knowledgeable regarding types and uses of contrast, as well as recognizing and responding to contrast reactions, side effects and extravasations including proper documentation.

Completes department tasks such as stocking supplies, checking outdated supplies, performing safety audits or tracking, and cleaning rooms and equipment to remain compliant with requirements, regulations, and policies.

Provides practical instruction for patients, families, and other health care professionals.

Applies critical thinking skills and ensures order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients.

Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for self and patients, using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with all government agencies or other regulatory bodies.

Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy/procedure including proper image management and accurate documentation in electronic medical record.

Additional duties as assigned for Community Hospitals are as follows:

Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures, demonstrate ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure. Staff will support a best-in-class patient experience by utilizing downtime as productively as possible, to include aiding in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit. Tasks include the following:

EKGs

Obtaining vital signs

Venous access w/ blood collection

Measuring and fitting of ambulation aids

Splinting

Bladder scanning

Restraint application

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited radiography program.  

Wisconsin License

American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

One-year experience in 2 or more imaging modalities AND advanced certification in MRI, CT, or mammography within 18 months

Physical Demands

Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance

Category 1: Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

Work Environment

Clinical, Patient Facing:

Normally works in climate-controlled office environment

Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space

Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. 

Occasional high noise level in work environment.

Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.

Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
