From your PASSION to ours The Culinary & Sensory Specialist is a hands-on R&D role, supporting the development of new products/innovation/renovation projects under the guidance of the Culinary Manager and Sensory Manager. The position is responsible for providing specialized product knowledge to the retail marketing/sales business teams through the execution and/or development of culinary functionality testing. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: · Perform product functionality evaluations and/or develop new recipes and provide documentation and conclusions for these activities in support of the business strategy. · Proactively identify & apply food insights and trends to determine where product innovation and content creation opportunities exist. · Consult and collaborate with Lactalis North America Culinary Manager (where required) on product performance investigations, applications/testing procedures, development of training and customer support documents, for sales and marketing teams. · Design, plan and execute required culinary and/or pilot experiments in the development of new products and/or product renovations and/or new processes for the experimental plan and conduct experiments, produce documentation, and provide conclusions. · Develop and perform recipes and tasting protocols in collaboration with sensory expert panel leader for sensory functionality testing. · Maintain an updated database of all recipes, protocols, technical reports, plus all other relevant information. · Procure and ship commercially available products on a weekly basis for use by culinary testing and sensory expert panel evaluations. · Assist Sensory Scientists to coordinate the experts panels by organizing, leading, submitting samples for chemical analysis, and analyzing session results as needed. · Travel to business headquarter offices, manufacturing plants, culinary events, and client sites to share knowledge and provide support in culinary and sensory activities. · This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions, it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. · To fulfill these responsibilities, tools such as a computer, phone, and/or allowance(s) may be provided. · Demonstrate commitment to a safe working environment that promotes the health and well-being of all employees and that will further contribute to the Company’s overall performance and success. · Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified applicant will contribute the following: Education & Experience · Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Science or related field · Minimum 2 years of experience in culinary, food and nutrition · Sensory science experience is a plus Skills / Abilities / Specialized Knowledge · Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Need to be able to work independently and in teams, with minimal direct supervision. · Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints. · Ability to operate in a transversal environment, across multiple departments. · Ability to adapt in a changing work environment. · Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Salary Description $65,000 - $75,000 annual
