Currencies and Emerging Markets - Automated Trading Strategies – Analyst or Associate

The Automated Trading Strategies (ATS) group is looking for an Analyst/Associate to join our team. ATS is a cross-asset front-office team working on the JP Morgan trading floor here in London. You will join one of the biggest electronic trading franchises, with a primary focus on the algorithmic order execution across macro. 

Job summary:

As a Analyst or Associate within Currencies and Emerging Markets - Automated Trading Strategies, you will work in in a dynamic and rewarding environment to identify and design algorithmic trading solutions for clients’ needs, drive revenue and expand the business. You will cover a wide range of responsibilities, including designing trading and execution strategies, researching micro-patterns and trends, building applications and tools, and supporting day-to-day operations. 

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement algorithmic orders to execute on behalf of clientsFormulate, analyse and back-test strategies, models, and signalsCollaborate with technology to develop cutting-edge low-latency infrastructure that meets business needs in a scalable mannerPerform statistical analysis of algorithmic order execution to drive iterative improvementsDevelop real-time and post-trade transaction cost analysis models and reports to help clients optimize their algorithmic execution

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent/ quantitative fieldStrong design and programming skills in C++/Java or other object-oriented languagesOriented towards careful system and solution design and implementationExcellent verbal and written communication skills for frequent interaction and partnership with different teams, including Clients, Voice Trading, Sales, Product, Research and TechnologyHighly motivated, attention to detail, adaptable, and eager to lear

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Good knowledge of statistics and/or machine learning, programming skills in PythonInterest in market microstructures and quantitative systematic trading across asset classesStrategic and creative thinking when faced with problems and opportunities, eager to explore new ways of doing thingsExperience in FX, Commodities, and Rates markets and general trading concepts and terminology is useful but not essential.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
