**The Worlds Largest Search Engine Is Seeking an Instructional Designer (** **Curriculum Program Manager)** **in Mountainview, CA!** **Title:** Instructional Designer II **Pay Rate:** $54.51 - $70.28 per Hour I **Position Description** **Estimated Duration:** 6 months **Work Location:** Mountain View, CA **Work Schedule** **Hybrid:** Mostly remote, must be local to the area and available to come onsite as needed **Hours:** Standard PST 8am-5pm **Project Overview:** The goal of this project is to develop concise and effective training programs for new Waymo operators by adapting existing training materials for processes, procedures, and technology across various work areas. These new training programs are for Customer Support operators in several learning areas, focusing on specific tasks and responsibilities of the new operator roles. The training will be well-structured, eliminating unnecessary content and optimizing the learning experience. **Overall Responsibilities:** As an instructional designer, you will be responsible for the following at the programmatic level: + **Program Management** : Oversee the development of new and existing programs, ensuring they meet departmental standards and business objectives. **Program Development** : Develop the overarching structure of the training program to ensure alignment with safety standards, instructional resources, assessment structure, and learner engagement. + **Content Analysis** : Review and analyze existing and new training materials to identify key components relevant to new operators' tasks. + **Training Optimization** : Identify opportunities to consolidate repetitive training activities, reduce training time, or enhance learning efficiency. + **Instructional Design** : Apply expert instructional design principles to develop engaging and effective training materials for new operators. **Top Daily Responsibilities:** + **Program Content Management:** Oversee the content development team's progress, identifying challenges and upcoming tasks. Collaborate on content prioritization and sequencing for optimal learning, and escalate blockers to ensure timely delivery. + **Training Content Development:** Write clear learning objectives for each training module, outline specific topics, key points, and skill demonstrations, and specify learning outcomes and assessment methods. + **Review Existing Training Materials** : Assess current content for relevance, accuracy, and reusability. Identify areas to streamline the program, document findings, and recommend improvements. + **Stakeholder and SME Meetings:** Regularly meet with stakeholders and SMEs to gather input on content needs and ensure technical accuracy. Incorporate feedback to align materials with business objectives. + **Content Delivery Coordination** : Ensure correct structure for content delivery in the LMS, manage instructor and learner enrollments, and coordinate "train the trainer" sessions. Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders for continuous improvement. **Additional Responsibilities:** + Develop engaging training content (e.g., presentations, e-learning modules, job aids) based on stakeholder input. + Continuously evaluate and update training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. + Participate in pilot testing with new operators and refine the training program based on feedback. + Maintain organized documentation of all project-related activities and deliverables. **Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:** **Skills:** + Instructional Design Expertise: Proven ability to apply adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and various learning modalities to create effective training materials. + Content Development: Demonstrated experience in developing training materials (e.g., presentations, e-learning modules, job aids, videos) tailored to specific audiences and learning objectives. + Content Analysis and Editing: Strong analytical skills to assess existing content, identify gaps and redundancies, and revise materials for clarity, accuracy, and conciseness. + Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with stakeholders, SMEs, and the training program manager. + Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. **Qualifications:** + **Bachelor's Degree** : A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. + **Relevant Experience** : Minimum of 5+ years of experience in instructional design and content development, preferably in a corporate or technical environment, with experience in call centers or regulated industries (transportation, utilities, banking, medical/pharmaceuticals). + **Technical Proficiency:** Proficiency in GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides) and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), preferably Cornerstone.
