Custodial Assistant Supervisor

Compensation: $16.14 per hour

Age Requirement: 21 years or older

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of Custodial employees.

Engaged in keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition; maintains indoor and outdoor premises by performing assigned duties. All while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests. Promotes and exhibits World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. Monitors performance of subordinate staff to make sure all the duties are being performed. Ensures that new personnel are familiar with Job Descriptions, SOP’s, Commission Regulations, Safety Procedures and complete familiarity with the facility. Notifies department Manager of any accidents, incidents and/or unusual occurrences. Advises Management of needed supplies, maintenance and repairs to equipment and facilities. Makes recommendations for improvements and completes written work reports as necessary. Prepares daily duty checklists and schedules for the shift. Completes daily Supervisors’ checklist. Responsible for the training or new personnel. Monitors training of new personnel by Shift Supervisor and/or other Custodial employees. Prepares evaluations for subordinate staff. May perform functions of subordinate staff as required. Must be able to be placed on Company Vehicle Insurance roster by having a valid New Mexico Driver’s License and proof of insurability for driving a vehicle. Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Accountability and Supervision:

Responsibilities include: Planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance;  addressing complaints and resolving problems; providing feedback to management as to operating policies and procedures, and suggestions on how to make the Custodial Department run more efficiently and cost-effectively.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred.

·         Three (3) years direct work experience, required.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements. Must have a valid NM driver’s license; should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last 3 years prior to the date of the Employment Application, acceptability will be determined by Risk Management.  Driving records will be checked.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have strong knowledge of custodial procedures, methods, safety issues, and familiar with cleaning products and equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions. Must have basic computer knowledge, i.e. Microsoft Office programs and the Internet research. Must be able to read and understand “Instructions for Use” on products labels for the safe and effective use of equipment and/or cleaning products. Must have a strong work ethic with strong attention to detail. Must have Knowledge of SDS requirements

Physical Demands and Work Environment

 Must be able to regularly lift, move, push, pull, and/or manipulate heavy objects weighting up to 50 pounds with assistance.  Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, and crawl. Must be able to climb ladders.  Must be able to constantly walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in, both, a Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level, and a high paced office setting. Possible expose to hazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, and unusual elements such as: dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Moderate exposure to dangers and physical risks that may require the use of personal protective equipment (PEP) and may occasionally be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
