**Recreation Services** at CU Boulder encourages applications for a **Custodial Supervisor** ! This role is responsible for supervising the custodial team and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the University of Colorado Recreation Center. This position will supervise custodial staff, manage cleaning schedules, maintain supplies and cleaning equipment, and ensure compliance with university and health standards. The Custodial Supervisor plays a key role in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors.

CU Boulder **Recreation Services** is a welcoming, valued, campus resource that promotes healthy lifestyles through high-quality, accessible, facilities and experiences. This student-fee-funded unit features a student-led CUSG Recreation Board and a diverse team of professional experts to help meet evolving recreational needs and support student engagement and success. Recreation Services oversees the LEED Platinum main campus Student Rec Center, a building with over 300,000 square feet of recreation and fitness activity space, as well as a satellite recreation center at Williams Village, outdoor basketball courts, a challenge ropes course, and eight turf and grass fields around campus. Throughout these facilities, members of the CU community can engage with a variety of programs that include ice skating, indoor rock climbing, intramural and club sports, yoga, aquatics and so much more.
**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
_Supervision and Performance Management:_
+ Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise custodial staff.
+ Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.
+ Promote a positive and professional work environment that fosters teamwork and accountability.
+ Approve employee timesheets and leave in the MyLeave system.
_Facility Cleanliness:_
+ Ensure that all areas of the recreation center, including locker rooms, restrooms, fitness/weight areas, basketball courts, turf gym, swimming pool, ice rink, hallways/corridors and offices, are clean, sanitized, and presentable.
+ Monitor daily operations to identify and address maintenance or cleanliness concerns.
+ Coordinate with maintenance staff for larger repairs or issues outside the custodial team's scope.
_Scheduling and Planning:_
+ Develop and manage cleaning schedules to ensure consistent and thorough coverage during operating hours.
+ Schedule and plan ahead for employee time off.
+ Plan and supervise deep-cleaning projects during downtime or facility closures.
_Inventory and Supplies Management:_
+ Maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
+ Place orders for supplies and manage the custodial budget effectively.
+ Ensure that equipment is regularly inspected, maintained, and repaired or replaced as needed. Preform maintenance and repairs on cleaning equipment.
_Health and Safety Compliance:_
+ Ensure adherence to university policies and local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
+ Train staff on proper cleaning protocols, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
+ Respond promptly to spills, hazards, or other safety issues reported by staff or patrons.
_Customer Service:_
+ Act as a point of contact for facility users regarding cleanliness concerns or custodial requests.
+ Collaborate with other departments to support events and activities hosted in the recreation center.
_Snow Removal:_
+ When needed, remove snow and ice from around the Recreation Center.

The salary for this position is $49,857.60 annually.

**What We Require**
+ 2+ years of custodial supervision experience.
+ A valid drivers license and the ability to drive a university vehicle.
+ Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
**What You Will Need**
+ Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, Office Word and Excel software applications work order systems).
+ Strong leadership and team management skills including scheduling and managing performance issues.
+ Knowledge of standard processes for cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces and materials.
+ Familiarity with cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies (e.g., buffers floor machines, vacuums, disinfectants).
+ Knowledge of handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
+ Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, including minor repairs and troubleshooting for custodial equipment.
+ Ability to delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to custodial staff.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
+ Ability to perform or supervise physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
+ Handling multiple tasks simultaneously, such as supervising staff and addressing facility concerns.
