THE POSITION
Are you someone who believes a clean and sanitary building reflects well on a company? If so, consider joining the Pennsylvania State Police in our Bureau of Training and Education, Basic Training Division as a Custodial Worker 1. The purpose of this position is to perform manual work in the custodial care of all academy buildings and surrounding grounds. If you are hardworking and reliable, we need you on our team!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Custodial Worker 1, you will be tasked with performing general custodial duties regarding the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds at Bureau of Training and Education. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleaning equipment, as well as organizing, storing, and ensuring the proper care of custodial and cleaning products. Work also includes snow removal, moving furniture as needed, and assisting with loading or unloading supplies and deliveries. Additional responsibilities include:
+ Sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing floors
+ Cleaning and fulfilling inventory daily in restrooms
+ Cleaning windows and mirrors inside and outside of the building
+ Dusting various surfaces such as blinds and furniture
+ Emptying trash receptacles

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
+ Work hours are on a flexible schedule, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,523 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
+ You must possess a valid Class C Driver's license which is not under suspension.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.

+ You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
