Bi-weekly reviews and lists sent to management starting 03 Dec 2024** Responsibilities Performs daily routine housekeeping duties in a child development center, school age care facility, or youth center. Preparing and delivering sanitizing bleach solution for use in classrooms, sanitizing toys that have been handled by children. Replenishing classroom supplies such as hand soap and paper towels when required, delivering program supplies and materials to classrooms such as construction paper, paint, etc. May be required to clean floors and tables after meals and snacks. Provides routine light cleaning/dusting of classrooms/activity areas and materials as required. May be required to sweep/mop using standard equipment such as brooms and vacuum cleaners. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to perform the duties described above without more than normal supervision. Must be able to dilute and use various cleaning and sanitizing solutions to disinfect items and/or remove different types of stains on varying surfaces. Candidates will be evaluated on the following elements as they relate to the duties above: Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order Ability to follow instructions- must be able to speak and understand English. Ability to use and maintain required tools and equipment (vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops). Physical effort and working conditions: Moderately heavy physical effort is used occasionally in moving, setting up, and working from ladders and scaffolds. Use of heavy powered cleaning equipment (wall washers, industrial-type buffers) may be required, but not on a continual basis. Occasionally lifts and moves objects weighing 40 pounds or more. Usually works indoors in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Continually exposed to dust, dirt, and grease, and standing on concrete floors. May be exposed to skin irritations from cleaning solutions. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
