Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Asset Custodian to join our Branch in Zanzibar. Key responsibilities include:
Ensure adherence to correct procedures for handling and movement of cash assets within the branch, agencies, Central Bank (BOT), and Bulk Cash operations.Serve as custodian for treasury cash, traveller's cheques, blank forms, safe custody items, securities, duplicate keys, ATM keys, and branch stationery.Manage safe custody operations, including logging, revenue recovery, receipt checking, and handling of bank chequebooks and vault lockers.Monitor cash trends, order and clear surplus cash, and ensure cash holdings are within prescribed limits.Control seals for cash clearance bags and assist with surprise checks of tellers.Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and regulations.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (required)5-7 years' experience in Branch Banking, policies and procedures, and managing a teamProven track record in Asset Management and Asset SecurityStrong customer service orientation with a focus on Customer ExperienceComprehensive knowledge of Banking Processes & ProceduresProficiency in Customer Acceptance & Review (Consumer Banking)In-depth Product Knowledge (Consumer Banking)Demonstrated ability in Risk Identification and mitigationExcellent attention to detail and high level of accuracyStrong organisational and time management skillsProficiency in relevant banking software and MS Office applicationsKnowledge of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirementsAbility to work under pressure and meet strict deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to undergo background checks and security clearances as required by the banking industryAdditional InformationBehavioural Competencies:
