Work hours for this position are from 10:00 pm - 6:30 am. Job Responsibilities: 40%: Cleans the following areas: restrooms, offices, classrooms, stairwells, elevators, hallways, and other assigned areas. This could include but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing; Mixing or blending routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations, as necessary for each task, based on manufacturer recommendations. 35%: Empties trash and recycling containers, transports waste material to outdoor refuse containers or recycling containers as appropriate; Cleans, decontaminates, and deodorizes waste containers using proper materials according to manufacturer recommendations. This applies to all indoor and outdoor receptacles. 10%: Operates assigned cleaning equipment based on the job to be done and at the manufacturers recommendation for use. This equipment could include but not limited to: wet/dry vacuums, carpet extractors, bathroom cleaning machines, floor polishers, floor cleaners, and other equipment as assigned and instructed by supervisor. 10%: Willingly shares all information with department teammates in an effort to provide high quality outcomes that contribute to student success. Maintains positive co-worker relationships and foster an environment of trust and inclusion. Produces all documentation related to fund expenditures required by the business office. Provides feedback regarding the safety of programs, equipment, and facilities. This is accomplished by conducting daily observations and/or by engaging in programs and using equipment and facilities. Immediately report safety concerns to the functional area supervisor. Contribute positively to the work environment by participating in honest dialog that is indicative of the department's culture of teamwork. Represent University Recreation for various university and community functions and committee work and other duties and assigned. 5%: Unlocks/locks areas within the building based on assigned room; The employee is responsible for all assigned keys per departmental process. If keys are lost or stolen, then based on the type of key, the employee could be responsible for any costs associated. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work. Special or Physical Qualifications: Must be capable of walking around a 250,000 square foot building multiple times daily to access conference rooms, lobbies, & entrances in order to inspect and/or train on cleaning procedures; Must also be able to ascend & descend the stairs of a 3-story building multiple times daily and stand for extended periods of time to train new hires on cleaning processes; Must also be capable to stoop, kneel, & crouch to pick up litter and train employees to clean restrooms, offices, lobbies, and clean & maintain floors; Should be capable of moving furniture that weighs 20-40 pounds or more and transport tables & chairs weighing 60-80 pounds to different parts of the building on occasion. Due to the position's physical requirements, a pre-employment physical examination will be required per FASOP: HR-04. This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
