Job Description
Custodians are expected to take ownership of the Facilities and Grounds on Campus. At any time, they can be asked or expected to perform various cleaning and maintenance responsibilities. This role ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of campus buildings and grounds.
Shift:
3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:30am, Sunday night - Thursday night2nd shift: 5:30pm - 2:00am, Monday - FridayResponsibilitiesClean floors, ramps, and stairs by sweeping, wet mopping/dust mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.Service, clean, and supply restrooms.Gather and empty recycling and trash.Clean and polish fixtures.Replace light bulbs.Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.Steam clean or shampoo carpets.Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.Clean, replace, and hang blinds, drapes, and entrance mats.Collect and deliver soiled items.Clear sidewalks, drives, and adjacent areas; shovel snow.Lock, unlock, and secure buildings; maintain awareness of buildings and facilities, report abnormalities or security concerns.Identify and report needed building repairs.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Assist with snow removal activities as necessary.Essential SkillsAbility to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.Ability to bend and squat to reach hard to clean places.Ability to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.Ability to perform work that requires medium to heavy physical effort.Customer service mindset and personalityPay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00
