Start your new career as a Facilities Custodian with MAU at SHL Medical in Charleston, SC. As a Facilities Custodian, you will oversee environmental cleaning and janitorial services, ensuring the facility remains sanitized, organized, and welcoming for customers and staff. This is a six-month assignment with the potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.
What We Offer Pay of $17.00 an hour First Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM What We're Looking For High School diploma or equivalent OR 2+ years of experience in janitorial cleaning or professional housekeeping (A combination of education and experience will be considered) Environmental cleaning experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred Basic reading and writing skills required Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations Familiarity with general cleaning and disinfecting procedures Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer-focused approach Strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision Understanding relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA and OSHA regulations What You’ll Do as a Facilities Custodian Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across the facility and other SHL sites Ensure the facility remains safe, presentable, and welcoming for visitors and staff Perform cleaning duties, including sanitizing surfaces, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning restrooms, offices, conference rooms, carpets, and floors Clean glass surfaces, doors, ledges, baseboards, and building entrances (inside and outside) Stock facility supplies, such as soap, hand sanitizer, paper products, and cleaning chemicals Collect and dispose of garbage and waste Clean and disinfect cafeteria, staff areas, gowning rooms, and production areas Sweep and dust-mop hallways, corridors, and warehouse areas Operate auto scrubbers for floor cleaning and perform basic equipment maintenance Clean stairwells and elevators Report maintenance issues and submitting orders Assist the Facilities Team in preparing for changing weather conditions and completing assigned tasks Train and motivate team members to meet department objectives Maintain a focus on safety, productivity, and attention to detail Support additional facilities needs as directed by the supervisor
