Job Summary: Perform general cleaning, maintenance and repair activities associated with the operation of all Xanterra/Grand Canyon Railway facilities while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $17.20 an hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why the Grand Canyon Railway? Responsibilities Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement, Core Values, and cultural pillar. Cleans restrooms, hallways, lobbies, dining rooms, break rooms, and/or offices of assigned buildings on the Grand Canyon Railway property. Sweeps, mops, polishes, stripes and waxes floors in rooms and halls. Dusts and/or polish furniture, blinds and equipment. Cleans and stock restrooms. Vacuums, spot cleans and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial vacuum cleaners and shampooing equipment (carpet extraction equipment). Reports malfunctions of bathroom fixtures light fixtures and/or damage to room and hall furnishings to supervisor. Performs basic record keeping duties and perform basic equipment data collection and recording functions. Orders supply stock from supervisor. Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required. Washes windows and other glass as required. Shovels snow and ice from designated areas such as sidewalks, and entryways as required. Delivers supplies and materials to various locations and departments within the company. Adheres to all safety, risk management and environmental policies and procedures. Wears required personal protective equipment in performing assigned tasks. Represent the company in a positive manner and minimize the impact of maintenance activity on the guests. Assists in the completion of general and preventative maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion, high quality, thoroughness and cost effectiveness. This includes indoor and outdoor activities in department that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shift changes can occur based on the demands of the service and special assignments or projects that arise. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License, and be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy. Must be at least 19 years of age. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout on GCR property, including general knowledge of Xanterra Grand Canyon Railway guest services with the ability to convey information to the guests is a plus. A valid Arizona Driver’s License, and ability to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy is a plus. (Must be at least 19 years of age to operate company vehicles and equipment. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, walking, balancing, climbing, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, bending/ stooping, ascending and descending ladder. Trunk Strength-The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving our or fatiguing. Static Strength-The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects. Constant carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 10lbs. Frequently carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 25lbs. Occasionally carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 100lbs. Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking. Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time on cement floors and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
