As a member of the CAD/CAM Customization department, you’ll work with a wide range of customization options, from minor style adjustments to fully personalized designs, allowing you to help jewelers craft one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to their customers.
The Custom Design Operations Technician is responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of design projects through the CAD/CAM system, including making design adjustments, allocating tasks based on complexity and designer expertise, and ensuring all project information is accurate and complete.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize CounterSketch to make design adjustments based on customer requests, ensuring the correct files with the necessary updates are included. Once completed, move the job to the Validate stage. Contact customers to obtain any missing information related to their projects, ensuring clear communication to avoid delays. Manage incoming emails and direct tasks to the appropriate steps and team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow process. Direct time-sensitive customer requests to the appropriate designer, ensuring these requests are marked with a timestamp to indicate their urgency. Develop cross-training skills by maintaining customer product inventory, cleaning and scanning live products, measuring stones and finger sizes, and taking high-quality photos of the live products. Gain cross-training in requisitioning products for review, ensuring they are documented correctly and returned promptly after inspection, & also helping to log and disperse received packages and products to the correct departments. Maintain high standards of professionalism and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment. Acquire a thorough understanding of the CAD/CAM workflow.Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalentSkilled in allocating tasks, assessing job complexity, managing timelines, and coordinating with various facilities and departments.Comprehensive understanding of the entire CAD/CAM workflow, including design, validation, production capabilities, and quality standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and cross-functional departments. Meticulous focus on details when handling designs, quotes, and workflow processes.Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in jewelry design industry or related Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, generate top, side, front, and perspective views, and produce accurate visual representations of designs. Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software such as CounterSketch, MatrixGold, or similar tools.
