Custom Manufacturing Manager

The Custom Manufacturing department is responsible for polishing, engraving, plating, sizing and setting stones, demanding high dexterity, concentration, and attention to detail to ensure the quality of each piece. 

The Custom Manufacturing Manager oversees and manages daily operations in the Custom Manufacturing department to maintain an efficient workflow and team development, under the leadership of the Custom Manufacturing Director. 

 Key Responsibilities: 

Conduct monthly coaching sessions with team members to provide guidance, support, and skill development. Complete performance reviews for team members every six months to evaluate and enhance their skills. Communicate with the department’s Director regularly to provide updates on the team’s production status and address any issues. Implement and monitor departmental changes, ensuring the team is informed and aligned. Ensure high levels of concentration and attention to detail are met to maintain product quality. 

Basic Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team Ability to maintain a positive work environment and effectively manage workflow Demonstrated proficiency in tasks requiring manual dexterity and close-range detail observation. 1 to 3 years of jewelry manufacturing experience Possesses a strong understanding and the ability to speak knowledgeably about at least one of the following areas. Support  Expedite experience (proven knowledge of oracle processes and the ability to navigate to resolve order complications). Proficient in Jewelry Quality Standards and inspection techniques, including the use of optical aids.  Engraving/Welding  Proven knowledge of laser marking machines and expertise in understanding and optimizing system parameters for efficient use. Acquainted with Digital Asset System (DAS) and the storing of customer logos for engraving.  Demonstrated expertise in operating Laser Welder machinery to effectively minimize scrap production.  Metal Smithing   Extensive expertise in all three levels of Metal Smithing, encompassing tasks such as sizing and assembly.  Capable of identifying errors and implementing corrective actions with appropriate documentation.   Stone Setting  Demonstrate extensive expertise in stone setting for products acquired through the Studio process. Capable of identifying errors and implementing corrective actions with appropriate documentation 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

Understanding of LEAN manufacturing and/or the Shingo Model Knowledge of jewelry and jewelry manufacturing processes
