Job Summary
Bern's Steak House (https://bernssteakhouse.com) is seeking dedicated, detail oriented and professional candidates for an experienced supervisor for the Customer Care/ Reservation department in a high-volume restaurant. We will provide you with the tools to learn, grow, and become a confident and knowledgeable asset in any professional setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
+ Handle high volumes of guests needs in an organized, efficient and professional manner.
+ Input accurate reservations and guest requests into a digital reservation system.
+ Answer guest questions regarding our menu, history, policies and procedures.
+ Communicate messages and special requests to teammates in a clear and concise manner.
+ Ability to exude a welcoming and friendly demeanor through all circumstances.
+ Work closely with department managers and administrative director to cater guest experiences
+ Learn the gift card platform, how to activate, sell and look up gift card inquiries
+ Write customer care schedule (manager approves)
+ Organize and approve request-offs, approve and confirm coverage for vacation time
+ Track callouts, tardies, improper callouts, pattern absenteeism and attendance trackers for department
+ Well versed in policies and procedures to give accurate information to guests and employees
+ Handle challenging guests - liaison between guests/managers, extension of the Maitre d’
+ Trainer - establish training metrics and quizzes to confirm comprehension
+ Add/decrease reservation guest counts in OT with manager code
+ Updated Q&A and training binder as needed (menus, updated information, policies & procedures)
+ Regularly check website for accuracy, necessary updates
+ Flexible schedule/ willing to cover when someone calls off
+ Willing to correct employees when wrong information is given and when not following policies or rules
+ Work with manager/HR on corrective counsellng and documentation
+ Review and properly tag reservations and add guest notes with future catered experiences in mind
+ Flag possible third party reservations and communicate concerns with the admin team
+ Main customer care duties during your shift to help with call volume
+ Answering phones/ assisting guests
+ Confirmations calls
+ Emails
+ Any other duties that are asked and needed
+ Maintain no-show/cxl fees and notes, charging accordingly
Qualifications and Skills
+ Attention to detail.
+ Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
+ Must maintain a professional demeanor and well-groomed appearance at all times.
+ Must be available nights, weekends, and some holidays.
+ Ability to work independently while still contributing to overall goals of the team.
+ Must be able to work with your hands, stand, bend and lift for extended periods of time.
