Customer Lead - Avian

**THE POSITION**
You will deliver profitable growth in line with/or above budget for the portfolio within national customers in align with sales and marketing strategies. You will facilitate customer partnerships by leading and coordinating a cross functional approach to the customer. You will build a deep understanding of the customer to position Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health as the strategic partner of choice to deliver long term profitable growth.
This is a national field-based role requiring regular travel throughout the UK and Ireland, primarily covering the principal egg and poultry production regions in the UK.
**TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Accountable for the implementation of strategic and national account plans, the development and implementation of local account plans, and stakeholder management within relevant accounts, utilisng multi-channel communication when appropriate
• Gain an in-depth understanding of customer businesses (both vets and producers) and identify and exploit mutual opportunities to add value to their business and achieve net sales targets
• Achieve net sales revenue targets, ensuring investments are set within budget parameters
• Understand the profit contribution to the business, and act accordingly to drive profit
• Achieve market share targets and understand the market share dynamics in the accounts; identify trends early and propose solutions to gaps or promote gains
• Evaluate return on investment of all activities and make recommendations for future investment improvement
• Track progress against budget, identify gaps and close quickly to deliver results required
• To maintain a high level of customer service/contact and promote the company, its products and activities at all levels within the market place(including producers and veterinary surgeons)
• Identify opportunities to develop and implement value added services to support the vaccine portfolio and differentiate the Boehringer Ingelheim value proposition to its customers
• Provide practical support to veterinary customers and their farm clients, assisting in the establishment of vaccination programmes and delivery of support services on farm
• Shares information regarding the market, competitor activities and customer feedback on products and promotions to relevant colleagues
• Maintain level of technical and commercial knowledge of own and competitor products and associated disease areas
• Build Strategic Customer Business Plans based on an in depth knowledge of the customer including business profile, key stakeholders, competition, business processes, culture, technology, political environment and strategies. Keep the plan up to date and share with team members and management as appropriate
• Provide accurate and timely forecasts (net sales and NRP) to ensure visibility of new and current business to optimise resource planning
**REQUIREMENTS**
• Experience of working in the Egg and Poultry Industry
• Previous experience in a specialised account management, sales or technical selling role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly competent at organising and planning
• Strong influencing and analytical skills
• Demonstrable ability to build strong relationships
• Connects well with other team members and wants to work as “one team” with shared objectives
• Adaptable to change
