Customer Quality Coordinator
TIER 1 Customer quality COORDINATOR - Winston-salem MANUFACTURING Summary: The Customer Quality Coordinator- Winston-Salem Manufacturing position is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in the day-to-day activities within the QA Department to assure compliance with processes, procedures, and customer requirements. This position assists the Quality Assurance Manager in advancing, implementing, and supporting the Smurfit Westrock Merchandising Displays and QA strategies to meet company and customer needs. The position assists in leading, monitoring, implementing, and directing the quality processes and procedures within the department and for the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: * Perform Quality Assurance Auditor and Quality Assurance Lead Auditor duties, as required. * Represent the department in meetings or on projects, when assigned. This is a primary function as it relates to the plants Tier 1 customers. * Act as a primary point of contact for Tier 1 customer internal communications. Communicate with scheduling, production, quality staff, staffing agency as needed. * Act as a secondary point of contact for external Tier 1 customer communications in the absence of the Quality Manager or Lead Quality Auditor. * Lead inspection and sorting of WIP and Finished Goods materials to determine acceptable components for further processing and/or shipment. * Coordinate the inspection and sorting process. * Train, develop and direct an inspection team. * Report out the results of inspection and sorting activities. * Coordinate with scheduling and production to ensure designated customer orders are produced accurately to the customer standards, using qualified equipment and prepared for shipment. * Ensure customer required sampling and testing of WIP and Finished Goods components have been performed and results reported out. * Assist in Equipment Qualification activities. Operational Qualification, Performance Qualifications. * Resolve minor quality issues. * Liaise with customers and other departments to ensure the execution of corrective action as needed to ensure compliance with customers\u2019 specifications. * Assist QA Manager in maintaining Quality Systems: site level and customer work instructions, and the company\u2019s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Assist in identifying quality related training needs and delivering training to the Quality Assurance department and other departments. * Assure department targets and goals are achieved, and assist in leading team based improvement activities; E3 Problem Solving, Why-Why\u2019s. * Coordinate staff\u2019s schedule to ensure resources are adequate to meet business needs. * Perform clerical tasks to support department\u2019s record-keeping and reporting functions. * Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area. * Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. * Overtime is required. * Perform other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED minimum. 2+ years\u2019 experience in a Manufacturing Quality role. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge ofbasic computer skills.
