**Minimum Qualifications:**
High School diploma and 4 years experience in a patient account environment or related field.
**Job Description:**
Provides service to patients to resolve routine as well as more complex questions and concerns regarding their Physicians Billing Services (PBS) and Hospital Patient Financial Services (HPFS) patient account. Acts as the liaison between PBS/HPFS and clinical departments, insurance companies, insurance billing areas and multiple other areas in the resolution of medical reimbursement issues. Assures the patients issues, problems and questions are appropriately and efficiently resolved in a highly patient friendly manner. Conducts high level research and resolves issues delaying the satisfaction of the customer debt and collection of the outstanding customer balance.
**Job Duties:**
+ Receivesinquiries/complaintsfrompatientsviatelephone,inperson,email,webandcorrespondenceregarding their accounts
+ Throughverbal and writtencommunication,explain complex insuranceinformationtocustomers/patients
+ Verify eligibility for coveragewithgovernmentprogramsandcommercialinsurance
+ Serveas a liaisonforpatientincontactingthirdpartypayersregarding the patient’squestions
+ Utilizingacquiredknowledge of third-partypayers and informationaltoolsavailable,assistpatientin understanding the payer benefitsandmethodologies
+ Effectivelycommunicatewithclinicaldepartments/divisions/clinicspersonnel or others to assurethe efficienthandling of a patientinquiryfrominception to completion
+ Determinesif an adjustmentshouldbemade to a patientaccountandapply theadjustment ifappropriate
+ Determinesif a refundshouldbemadeon a patientaccount and refund ifappropriate
+ Review and resolvecreditbalancepatientaccountsfromvariousworklists
+ Identifytrendsfromreview of accountsand initiate changes to preventreoccurrenceofproblems
+ Identify,investigate,resolve and escalate,whennecessary,payer,system or clinicaldepartmentalbilling problems
+ Usingvariousworklists and reports,resolvepatientaccountissuesincludingbadaddressaccounts,delinquentaccountstobe referredtooutside collection agencies, etc.
+ Appropriatelydocumentsthepatientsaccountwith the natureoftheinquiry or contact and the actiontaken
+ Remain compliantwithHIPAAregulations at all times
+ AssistsManager withsystemtesting as needed
+ Adheres to internalcontrolsandreporting structure
+ Performs related duties as required
**Work Schedule:**
Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
**Salary Range:**
Actual salary commensurate with experience
