POSITION SUMMARY
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing creative solutions to meet customers’ needs, internal and external. This position is also responsible for securing and assigning freight to maximize productivity and profitability.
MAJOR TASKS
• Determine capacity and demand of loads and truck assignments.
• Plan and organize the transportation of goods based on deadlines, available resources, and customer requirements.
• Answer phone calls and electronic communication from customers to develop and maintain positive relationships.
• Closely work with the sales department to balance freight capability and identify target areas for maximum saturation throughout the market.
• Responsible for accepting excess freight to support brokerage profitability.
• Monitor and track loads to provide status updates on shipments.
• Update Transportation Management System with real-time shipment information
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of 2 years transportation or traffic experience; preferably sale or operational background.
• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with Qualcomm, McLeod, and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and business partners in a professional and respectful manner.
• Ability to provide effective planning to maximize service and financial performance
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
