Customer Service Specialist
Job Summary:
As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience and promoting the safety and security of Murphy USA’ customers, employees, and premises. Your primary role is to provide best-in-class customer service, with the added benefit of naturally deterring and minimizing theft and other potential safety issues.  You will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism in your day-to-day activities, as well as effectively communicate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting and acknowledging every customer that enters the store
- Maintaining a visible presence on the sales floor and at entrance/exit points, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for customers and employees
- Actively monitoring customer activity on the salesfloor
- Providing exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, helping with directions, or solving any other customer concerns that may arise
- Using positive language with customer interactions
- Promptly responding to any emergency incidents, where a customer may require assistance
- Addressing and resolving any safety hazards on the salesfloor
- Monitoring and reporting any external incidents that may impact the operations or safety of the store
- Communicating external integrity concerns to store management
- Supporting asset protection initiatives, such as inventory control, by conducting periodic audits and assisting in the identification of potential risks
-Following and promoting all Murphy USA safety and de-escalation policies


Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably in retail or a similar environment
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, employees, and external agencies
- Knowledge and proficiency in conflict resolution utilizing various de-escalation techniques
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform floor surveillance for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) when required
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
