About the position:

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Technician (CST) for our growing Birmingham/Tuscaloosa division Our CSTs both proactively resolve any issues that might arise after the home closes and facilitate all customer warranty requests either by scheduling subcontractors to complete a repair or by making the repair themselves. They are responsible for upholding customer satisfaction levels among our homeowners.

Essential Functions:

Evaluate homeowner repair issues to determine if they are warrantable itemsProcess written or electronic work order and/or verbal instructions for homeowner repairs as well as charge-back documentation and invoicesPerform necessary repairs including carpentry work, drywall, texture, or painting repairsDevelop and maintain solid working relationships with homeowners and subcontractorsSchedule and oversee subcontractors making designated warranty repairs; ensure all repairs are completed within compliance standardsCertify warranty work is completed within contractor obligationsFollow-up with homeowners to ensure concerns are addressed timely and professionallyOther duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous demonstrated experience in customer service roles Experience with minor electrical work, plumbing, and/or HVAC repair work is highly desiredPossess a vehicle capable of carrying construction supplies (a truck is recommended)

Working environment:

Customer Service Technicians work in the field and have regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is generally loud on a regular basis. Candidates should be able to stand for at least 4-hours straight, up to a full 8-hour day as well as sit for extended periods of time; kneel; bend at the waist; climb ladders, scaffolding; balance; stoop; crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; traverse across unlevel terrain; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and hear and talk. Specific close, distance, color, and peripheral vision abilities are required for this role. Candidates regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
