Customer Service Technician (Recreation Aid)
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the outdoor recreation department on Edwards Air Force Base, Ca. This is a Regular position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming environment for customers, answering their questions, and addressing their concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Register customers for activities and collect signed waivers, ensuring that they have signed the necessary waivers to participate. Check out equipment to customers and manage facility reservations, such as camping, hiking, and boating. Process resale transactions for outdoor recreation activities. Manage FAMCAMP reservations and check-ins/outs. Answer telephone inquiries and provide information to customers by providing customers with accurate and up-to-date information about outdoor recreation programs and services. Generate activity rosters and prepare end of shift/day financial reports to track revenue and expenses. Perform other related office administrative tasks as assigned such as data entry, filing, and answering emails, as assigned by the Outdoor Recreation Director or Programs Manager/Assistant Director. May operate a government vehicle traveling from one facility to another. May be required to work uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and family days. This position has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP). Incumbent is subject to random drug screen. Attend all formal and informal training to this position as required by the supervisor or higher headquarters. Must be able to drive a forklift. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed. Must be able to lift and carry objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Position requires favorable completion of a Tier 1 background investigation. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to communicate effectively in English both, orally and in writing. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
