Job Description

This is an in-person position, does not sponsor work visas, and has no relocation assistance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activitiesDaily execution of workflow and department metricsTransfer declaration information from commercial documents, or other sources into our customs entry systemAccurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declarationBuild and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizationsGuarantee compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and externalTrack and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government AgenciesUnderstand all elements of the import customs Desk Level Operating Procedure and correctly interpret this information to fulfill our customer´s instructions and expectationsIdentify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvementSeek ways to enhance productivity, KPI’s, process improvements, compliance and customer satisfactionEffectively manage and organize emails for timely follow upConsistently display and promote the company’s 10 cultural attributes: Appearance, Attitude, Confidence, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Resolute, Sense of Humor, and Visionary

QualificationsCustomer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required.  We hire for attitude and train for skill.Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation is a plusEffective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsUnderstanding of the importance of quality customer service and its effect on all facets of a successful business and brandProactive and organized approach to learning and executing on the jobStrong desire to learnSense of urgency and works well under pressureImmense attention to detailTeam player mentalityProficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)Able to use the 10-keyFluent in English
