\nWe have an immediate career opportunity for a qualifiedCustoms Entry Writer. As aCustoms Entry Writer, you will ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported products while processing separate entries to Custom Border Patrol (US CUSTOMS). You will also compute tariffs (taxes), and price conversions of merchandise imported from foreign destinations. In addition you will also be asked to examine various documents including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to obtain release of incoming freight and resolve delays.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\nParticipates in planning and directing the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations\nEffectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency rules and regulations\nProcesses all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries\nCommunicates with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and special handling and delivery processes\nApplies for Import/Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility\nMaintains open line of communication with department of foreign affairs\nMay receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence\nExamine online commercial invoices and other documents, to determine the correct Harmonized Tariff Code for each commodity to ensure correct classification\nKnowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding Foreign Trade Agreements, and other duty exemptions\nMust be detail oriented, organized, and possess time management skills\nProcess shipments through various online portals for submission to FDA and US Customsto obtain proper clearance\nSkills & Qualifications:
\n\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate degree preferred)\nOvertime is required\n1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database and web-based applications\nGood oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; courteous and clear telephone voice\nProficiency on a 10 key calculator\n\n\nEmployee Benefits & Incentives
