The EUROPE SUPPLY NETWORK HUB is the heart of the region and the largest planning center in P&G. In our office, we take care of all elements of the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to production planning and distribution.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a CUSTOMS EXPERT – Classification Analyst. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification is a fundamental customs process. Each imported or exported material needs to be classified and all customs measures (such as duty rate, import and export restrictions or sanctions) depend on the outcome of this legal analysis.
Roles and Responsibilities
Accurately determine Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification of P&G products in accordance with the provisions outlined in the General Rules of Interpretation, Section and Chapter Notes and Binding Tariff Information issued by the customs authorities. Support classifications with justifications.Update and monitor maintenance of HTS classification data in the appropriate databases used by P&G.Prepare applications for Customs rulings request (BTI).Internal collaboration: Closely partner with Material Owners and R&D Team to understand both the material specification and technical details needed to determine appropriate HTS codes. Function as the go to person in case of classification related questions from internal stakeholdersLiaise with external customs providers on HTS classification services.Support internal, external, audits and execute corrective action as needed.Monitor changes in local rules and legislation and provide timely communication of events with potential business impact. Monitor and enforce adherence to governance policies across the organization.Provide customs input for new trade activationSupport customs projects which drive simplification, automation and digitization in our scope of workJob Qualifications
Requirements:
University degree (Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry or in Engineering would be an advantage)Previous work experience with HTS Classification, especially within chemical and engineering classification. Experience in customs, trade compliance or a similar department would be preferred.Solid and practical knowledge of EU customs regulations for import and exportExperience in optimization and automation of business processes. Knowledge of tools such as Power BI, SQL, Oracle or Python is welcome.Proactive and process-driven mindset with a strong attention to detailSolution driven, open-minded approach; ability to work as a part of a teamVery good knowledge of MS Office and SAPAdvanced EnglishAny questions left?
