Customs Manager
Description We are offering a unique opportunity for a Customs Manager in the automotive industry. This role is based in Lafayette, Indiana, United States. As a Customs Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the organization's import and export procedures to ensure compliance with regulations. You will also manage the Customs team and foster positive relationships with stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Implement and manage the organization's import and export procedures to ensure compliance with global regulations. • Supervise the Customs team, ensuring efficient operation of inbound and outbound shipments. • Stay up-to-date with customs regulations and international trade agreements and prepare organizational responses and business processes accordingly. • Optimize the use of resources to minimize import duties and maximize operational efficiencies. • Manage business relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other service providers. • Communicate effectively with the organization on all customs-related content. • Oversee all audit activity related to customs compliance. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all related business and technical areas. • Utilize skills in Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, and Import Export laws to manage and improve customs processes. • Lead customs-related project activities, offering your expertise in a leadership capacity. Requirements • Proven experience in the automotive industry, with a minimum of 7 years in a managerial role. • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other ERP solutions. • Familiarity with 'About Time' software. • Strong understanding of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP). • Experience with buying processes within the automotive industry. • Exceptional communication skills, capable of dealing with various stakeholders. • Experience in import customer service and managing export-import documents. • Knowledge of import laws and regulations. • Familiarity with import and export operations in the automotive industry.
