The Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship Program offers a 1-2 year paid fellowship in Cutaneous Oncology and Dermatologic Surgery. Successful applicants will have completed dermatology training and are interested in applying for a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship. A strong interest in research and clinical trials is preferred.
Function/Duties of PositionThe Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship involves training in the following areas:
Surgical management of patients with cutaneous tumorsLeadership of ground breaking trials in cutaneous oncologyAssist in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructionManuscript preparation and submissionParticipate in regularly held journal clubs and reconstruction conferencesAttend surgical conferences (ACMS and ASDS) and build network of surgical dermatologists and fellowship directorsAttend quarterly Oregon Dermatologic Society meetingsApplicants will perform dermatological procedures and provide an outstanding level of professional performance (e.g. quality of clinical care for clinical faculty, quality of administrative function in education office). Professional performance is to be delivered in a manner that is compliant with the OHSU Code of Conduct. Appointee shall treat all patients, trainees, and co-workers with dignity and respect.
Required Qualifications Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree and Board certification/eligibility in Dermatology as well as experience in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with cutaneous diseases. Applicants should expect to do at least 1 full day of general dermatology and two half days of excisions per week.
