CV Invasive Specialist, Full Time, NMC
Responsible for preparing patients and assisting physicians with cardiac catheterization procedures such as coronary angiograms, angioplasty, and stents. Integrates with physicians and nurses, and has responsibility for emergency call. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Prepares procedure room for cardiac catheterization and interventions including, stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and electrophysiology tests and ensures all equipment's required for the procedure are present in the procedure room. 2. Prepares and drapes patients for the process, responds to their questions alleviating any concerns regarding the procedure, and ensures patients comfort. 3. Enters patient, procedure and equipment details in the system. 4. Monitors patient hemodynamic status during procedure, including electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain. 5. Retrieves imaging and other pertinent data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results. 6. Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data as well as intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies. 7. Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies. 8. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Professional Certification. Relevant Experience: 1. 0-2 years of experience in Cardiology Support services. Preferred: 1. Bachelor's Degree in health science or related field. 2. RCIS certification or Licensed Radiology Technologist 3.
